MW4 DMZ Hajin Map Guide

The MW4 DMZ Hajin map has 13 major points of interest and more than 60 named locations in total. Every site carries its own expected Threat Level, ranging from Low on open farmland to Extreme inside the Chang-san Air Base bunker and the Nenshin Tech Complex, and the type of building you enter decides what loot you walk out with.

  • Fire Stations hand out Radiation Gear and Parachutes; Police Stations hold military gear and a locked Armory; Clinics hold medical supplies.
  • The Tac-Map grid runs letters west to east and numbers north to south, so D7 means Imjin Farmland.
  • Every Key you find includes a grid location in its description.

Hajin at a Glance: Threat, Grid and Radiation

Hajin is an exclusion zone in a tri-point region bordering Russia and the Korean peninsula, split across what used to be North Korean and South Korean territory, and the official product page treats it as a headline part of the game. The official tour groups the map by geography and gives each area an expected threat level recorded before any combat engagement, so a Low rating describes the baseline, not a guarantee once you start shooting.

Two map-wide systems decide how you move. The first is the grid overlay on the Tac-Map: letters run west to east, numbers run north to south, and the official blog gives D7 as the identifier for Imjin Farmland. A Key looted in one deployment is effectively a route plan for the next, since keys carry their grid reference.

The second is radiation. The Tac-Map shows the spreading radiation field inside Hajin, and the Time Remaining counter tells you when the radiation storm will intensify. Once conditions worsen you need an exfil point rather than a new objective. The June DMZ overview explains how weather, fog and dynamic world events shift the map between runs.

Three sites deserve a closer look.

14th Political Prison hides the Citadel, a Y-shaped fortress inside the prison yard with gantries, walkways, repatriation chambers, a huge furnace and a warren of cell blocks. Without proper reconnaissance, operators get isolated and surrounded quickly, which is why the official tour rates it Critical.

Chang-san Air Base is built into a granite hillside that conceals an underground bunker complex larger than the footprint of the surface base. Expect a hospital, helipad, jet runway, barracks, supply depots and a command structure up top, and a tunnel network below it.

Chang-san's bunker outranks the surface base

The Air Base Exterior is rated Critical, but the Air Base Bunker is Extreme. Recon teams have taken the approach from the elevated woodland to the south rather than the cliffs on the eastern perimeter.

The Grid is the densest fight on the map: razor wire, barricades and watchtowers across multiple city blocks, plus the DBN TV tower, the Hanex Bank tower and the volatile Nenshin Tech Complex. Expect rooftop engagements first, then street fighting with few ground-level escape routes.

Minor Points of Interest and the 60+ Named Locations

Beyond the headliners, the official blog names several smaller sites and confirms that Hajin holds more than 60 named locations, with the rest left for you to recon.

  • Hajin River: the north and south tributaries that originate in the western mountains and flow to the sea near the Reactor and Songdo Wharf.
  • Tong-il Village: a farming community on the north delta floodplain, with an imposing statue of a past leader.
  • Revolution Dam: intact, critical infrastructure with a strong military police presence. Tong-il Village sits just to its southeast.
  • Pyonghwa Village: dwellings and farmland west of the river, with a partly destroyed pontoon bridge for fast vehicle crossings.
  • Imjin Suburb: a small farm worker hamlet along the river, tucked under a wooded hill near the railroad.
  • Mujin Pass: a farming community in a dell on a major road, with the Hospital to the north and the Array to the south.
  • Daesong Ridge: a rural settlement northeast of Imjin Farmland, marked by rusting APC husks along a pock-marked roadway.
  • Namjin Riverside: abandoned civilian vehicles near an exit tunnel by the South Fork of the Hajin River.

Two major sites double as multiplayer maps: Imjin Farmlands and Wolves Stadium are the two Ground War Combat Outpost maps at launch, both set in Hajin, so the layouts carry into the Ground War Combat Outpost guide and the official maps and modes guide. Hajin also joins Warzone Battle Royale when Season 1 arrives on November 6.

Loot by Building Type: Where Each Resource Lives

Hajin's loot is distributed logically, so the building tells you what to expect. The official tour also notes the colour coding: red facades are Fire Stations, blue means Police Stations and green means Clinics.

Location type What you find there
Fire Stations Radiation Gear and Parachutes. NK stations are brick, SK ones modern. Enemy presence expected.
Police Stations Military gear and a locked Armory. Blue colour scheme, multiple rooms to clear, often roof access for overwatch.
Clinics Medical loot behind green facades. Watch for enemies, or Operators holed up waiting to ambush anyone healing.
Gas Stations Repair and refuel ground and airborne vehicles, and refill Operator-carried Gas Cans.
Marine Gas Stations A small jetty and two pumps, best for Armored Patrol Boats and RHIBs.
Ammo & Armor Caches Replenish ammunition and gather Armor Plates. Often inside enemy-held compounds, and they go on cooldown after use.
Compounds Fortified positions with better loot and valuable intel, plus vehicles such as the LTV. A stealthy approach usually beats going in loud.
Bounty Stations A rugged waterproof laptop for reviewing Bounties on human Operators, or paying DMZ Cash to clear your own Bounty.

Those ingredients are the currency for the 3D Printer, and the MW4 DMZ crafting guide covers what each recipe costs.

Side Ops, Exfil Points and Planning a Route

Three interactive location types turn exploration into progression.

UAV Towers are small portable comms towers, usually defended by enemy forces. Activate one to complete a Side Op, gain DMZ Cash and trigger a pulse that reveals nearby Operator and enemy positions. SAM Sites are fixed surface-to-air missile batteries you hack through the control computer while a siren draws attention; defend until it completes and the battery automatically targets enemy aircraft, particularly useful against Deathstalkers. Move too far away and enemy forces can reacquire it. Lieutenant Hunt towers have a laptop at the top that reveals the nearest active Lieutenant's general location, the entry point for the Lieutenant and Commander hunts.

Exfil sites come from a pool of locations and are marked by a plume of green smoke. Call in the Twin Heli Exfil helicopter and hold the site until it lands, or use a Fulton balloon or Flare as an alternate route.

Exfil sites are the most predictable part of the map

Other squads know exactly where the green smoke is going to appear. Flares are extremely loud and visible from a great distance, so assume somebody is already watching before you pop one.

A first route: land at Songdo Wharf or the Deadtown exterior for Low threat loot, work Imjin Farmland or Cheongun Village while you build a kit, then decide whether The Grid, the Prison or Chang-san is worth the risk. The MW4 DMZ beginner guide covers the loot-first loop that makes those early stops pay.

FAQ

What is the biggest POI in the MW4 DMZ Hajin map?

Chang-san Air Base: its underground bunker network is bigger than the surface base. Hajin City, with The Grid and the Mall, is the largest built-up area.

Which Hajin locations are the most dangerous?

The Citadel inside the 14th Political Prison, the Nenshin Tech Complex inside The Grid, and the Chang-san Air Base bunker - the sites rated Critical or Extreme.

Where do you find radiation gear in DMZ?

Fire Stations, which officially hold Radiation Gear along with Parachutes. That matters for the Haneul Nuclear Reactor, where protective apparel and a gas mask are required.

What does D7 mean on the Hajin map?

Letters run west to east and numbers north to south; the official blog gives D7 as Imjin Farmland. Keys also carry their grid location in the description.

How many locations are in Hajin?

More than 60 named locations, of which 13 are the major POIs in the official tour. The rest you recon yourself.
